General Information

The Nürnberg Digital Festival (NUEDIGITAL) is an annual event series for digital transformation. It all started back in 2012 as the Nürnberg Web Week and has grown into a platform where tech-focused people from business, education, science, and culture come together to share ideas and spark innovation. The festival’s packed with talks, workshops, and all kinds of activities, and it thrives on diversity—local businesses, organizations, and individuals actively contribute events to build out the agenda.

The next Nürnberg Digital Festival will be held from June 30 to July 9, 2025. Don’t want to miss a thing? Follow us on LinkedIn or Instagram and subscribe to the NUEDIGITAL newsletter to stay updated on all the latest news.

The Nürnberg Digital Festival doesn’t have one central location. It’s decentralized, with over 200 events happening throughout the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region, mainly in the Nürnberg, Erlangen, and Fürth area. You’ll find all the details about locations, dates, and times starting in May, once the program is live. Plus, some events will be virtual! Just check the event details to see if it’s on-site or virtual.

In the NUEDIGITAL program, a track groups all the events around a specific theme, such as Marketing & Communications or Data Science & AI. Tracks make it easier for participants to get an overview of the program and find events they’re excited about.

NUEDIGITAL is for everyone who’s excited about digital transformation and wants to help shape it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a high school student, college student, just starting your career, switching fields, or an experienced pro—you’ll get cutting-edge insights into the digital world and opportunities to network with fascinating people from diverse industries.

NUEDIGITAL is all about collaboration and getting involved. Whether you’re an individual or an organization, you can contribute as a sponsor, event host, or participant. Sponsors help ensure there are still free, high-quality events about digital transformation and even get the chance to shape the festival themselves. As an event host, you can put on your own event and spotlight yourself or your organization as a leader in digital innovation. Are you interested? Send an email at info@nuernberg.digital. And as a participant, you can enjoy the events and help spread the word by sharing with friends, family, and colleagues.

For participants

Most of the events at NUEDIGITAL are totally free. If an event does have a fee, it’s up to the event hosts to set the price – just check the event details for that info. The idea behind the festival is to bring people in the region together, create an open, hands-on space for exploring the digital future, and make sure it’s accessible to everyone. You’ll find all the info, including potential ticket costs, in our program.

The program goes live in early May 2025, at that point, you can sign up for events. Make sure to subscribe to our NUEDIGITAL newsletter so you don’t miss any updates or the start of registration!

You need an account on the NUEDIGITAL website to sign up for events. All important information about the events you sign up for will be sent to the email address linked to your account. In your profile, you can view the events you’ve signed up for and make changes on your own, like signing up for new ones or canceling. If you already have an account, keep in mind that you’ll need to reset your password once due to the website update in 2025. If you don’t have an account yet, just register on the website.

For event hosts

The festival offers event hosts more than just a platform: we provide professional participant management, ensure visibility, and create a space where innovative ideas can flourish and meaningful connections can be made. During the festival, the entire Nuremberg Metropolitan Region is branded in NUEDIGITAL’s signature yellow, and the festival is highly present in digital media. To sustain this platform and allow most events to remain free for participants, we depend on financial contributions. Social inclusion is central to our mission, which is why we’ve implemented a tiered funding model. This approach provides both small businesses and large companies a fair opportunity to join the community and contribute to shaping the festival. Sponsorships alone are not enough to cover costs, so every contribution helps us achieve this shared vision.

We’re all about inclusivity, and that applies to event hosts too! That’s why the fee for hosting an event depends on the size of your business. This way, everyone gets access to the same support and visibility. Not sure which category applies to you? Just get in touch with Elwira or Sarah – they’ll help you figure it out!

No, not always. If you’re a nonprofit or volunteer group, you can host events for free. Non-commercial community events, events for schools or educational groups, and events for kids or teens are also exempt from the fee. This way, we make sure NUEDIGITAL stays a collaborative, community-first festival. If you’re unsure whether your event qualifies for free submission, just get in touch with Elwira or Sarah – they’ll help you sort it out!

You can submit your event starting in late February 2025 directly on our website. To make sure you don’t miss any important updates, join our mailing list for event hosts. That way, you’ll be notified when submissions open and get all the details you need to get started.

From late February 2025, you can submit your event right on the NUEDIGITAL website. Before that, make sure to run your event idea by Sarah or Elwira. When you’re ready to submit, you’ll need a clear event title, a short and engaging description, an image that fits your event, and info about the venue. If you’re not sure about anything, Sarah or Elwira can help, or you can check the website for details closer to the date.

Each of the ten theme tracks only allows one event to start on the hour. This setup helps participants attend as many events in a single track as possible without overlaps. If the start time you want isn’t available in the form, it means another event is already scheduled for that time in your chosen track. Just pick a different time instead. Don’t worry—your event’s length isn’t affected by the start time, so you’re free to decide how long it will run. IMPORTANT: Once you pick a start time, it’s reserved for your event for four weeks. But if you don’t accept the terms and conditions within that time, the slot will be released for others.

Yes, absolutely! You can submit as many events as you want, as long as they’re connected to the broader theme of tech and digitalization. Details about the submission process, including the form and important planning tips for your events, will soon be available on our website. Keep in mind that a participation fee applies to each event you submit. For more information, feel free to contact Sarah or Elwira.

You’re in control – whether it’s a quick 15-minute presentation or a full-day workshop, the length is up to you! Just make sure the duration fits your event style. For example, an in-person workshop can last half a day or more if you’ve got engaging content to keep people interested. But if it’s a single talk or pitch, virtual or on-site, it’s better to keep it short and sweet. Based on our experience, 15 to 45 minutes works best to hold people’s attention. If you’re not sure what setup would work best, just reach out to Sarah or Elwira – they’ll help you figure it out!

If you’re not sure what type of event works for NUEDIGITAL or how to present your topic in the best way, Sarah and Elwira are here to help! They’ll work with you to plan and tailor your event so it’s just right for the festival.
