Automation and humanoid robotics are key topics of the future for modern industries. They not only affect the technical availability and performance of systems, but above all questions of integration: How can robots be safely integrated into existing systems, IT/OT landscapes and work processes? What role do data, simulation and artificial intelligence play in perception, planning and autonomous decision-making? And where can traditional industries – from mechanical and plant engineering to component and sensor manufacturers to software, testing and service providers – grow sustainably into new value chains?
In the moderated WorldCafé, we develop a common picture of opportunities, challenges and regional competencies along clearly defined key questions. The format is deliberately dialogue-oriented: In small, changing groups, the participants discuss concrete questions at several thematic tables, build on the ideas of the previous round and thus gradually consolidate knowledge, perspectives and solutions. Each round starts with a short introduction by the table host, followed by a visual recording of the discussion (e.g. on tablecloths/canvas, cards or digital boards). After 20 minutes, the groups move on to the next table; only the hosts remain and transmit the "essence" of the findings so far. At the end, the central patterns ("What stands out?"), open points and prioritized fields of action are brought together in the plenary ("harvesting").
The target group is representatives from industry, supplier networks, research, start-ups, user companies and relevant institutions. Tangible results are expected: a common target image, a map of regional competencies, a prioritized set of use cases including maturity and implementation assumptions, as well as initial starting points for pilot projects and cooperations. The WorldCafé thus creates a reliable basis for planning follow-up formats (workshops, consortia, funding applications, demonstrators) in a structured manner.
