The FAPS Chair and Fraunhofer IISB are jointly presenting their research on the latest trends in social and humanoid robots, virtual reality in education, and inductive charging of electric vehicles whilst driving.
How do humanoid robots communicate with humans? What social skills do they need to provide us with meaningful support in everyday life and in the world of work? Here, you can meet humanoid robots and gain an insight into the robotics of the future.
What does the future of education look like? VR and AR enable learning that is less location-dependent and more flexible in terms of time. They can also make the invisible visible (e.g. electricity, induction), minimise safety risks, and make learning content more interactive. Due to this, VR and AR are increasingly being used in education, from vocational training to university studies and further education, and, in conjunction with AI, are set to radically transform it.
How will electric vehicles of the future be charged? Inductively! Thanks to inductive coils in the road, vehicles can charge whilst driving. This means a longer range can be achieved without the need for a larger – and therefore heavier – battery, and the need for charging stops is eliminated.
Come along if you’d like to find out more, discuss and try things out!
Afterwards, also drop by the event "Hands-on digital health in Rheumatology: From VR glasses to AI symptom checkers", which is taking place in the next building over.
Recommended for: Anyone interested in technology, young and old alike, who wants to experience, try out or discuss technologies of the future.
