Pecha Kucha Erlangen was initiated by Tobias Müller-Zielke, who has also organized the event since its first edition in February 2011.

"Since 2011, we have been striving to improve presentation skills in the region with our events, showcasing better presentations on our stage than is typical for most corporate or educational presentations. Pecha Kucha has three basic rules: - Each presentation has exactly 20 slides. - Each slide is displayed for exactly 20 seconds. The speaker has no control over the slide transitions. - It uses a lot of visuals and very little text. The resulting presentations, with a length of 6:40, are engaging, entertaining, and, depending on the content, either informative or simply amusing. ..."
