Digital sovereignty has become a key topic for public institutions, government agencies and private organizations alike. Dependencies on cloud platforms, the rapid rise of AI systems and new regulations such as the AI Act, Data Act and NIS2 create uncertainty about how sovereign organizations truly are.
The Digital Sovereignty Lab provides a uniquely practical approach to this challenge: it integrates organizational, technological and governance perspectives, makes sovereignty immediately measurable and offers tools that participants can use directly in their day‑to‑day work – regardless of role or context.
The Digital Sovereignty Lab provides a uniquely practical approach to this challenge: it integrates organizational, technological and governance perspectives, makes sovereignty immediately measurable and offers tools that participants can use directly in their day‑to‑day work – regardless of role or context.
Together with experts from IBM iX, you will explore the four dimensions of digital sovereignty – data, technology, operations and organization – and complete a compact live maturity assessment.
After the joint introduction, you will choose between two parallel breakout sessions:
Breakout 1 – Live Maturity Assessment
For participants with organizational insight (public sector or enterprise).
We guide you through the assessment, interpret the results together and derive immediate quick wins.
Breakout 2 – Become a Digital Sovereignty Ambassador
For participants without specific organizational context.
In just 50 minutes, you develop your own ambassador toolkit: learn to spot typical digital risks, communicate about them effectively and influence decision‑making – regardless of role or hierarchy.
We close by bringing all results together, sharing actionable insights, discussing best‑practice pathways and giving a practical outlook.
This lab is hands‑on, interactive and accessible to everyone who wants to shape digital sovereignty in their organization or field.
Recommended for: For everyone interested in understanding how digital sovereignty can be measured and shaped in practice. Ideal for participants from public institutions, government agencies and companies – from strategy and IT to governance and compliance. No prior knowledge required.
