AI is already changing how artistic works are created, how culture becomes visible, how institutions operate, and how cultural practitioners shape their everyday work. The question is no longer whether, but how we as a cultural sector want to engage with it. 

On June 26, 2026, Stiftung Kulturzukunft Bayern and Kulturatlas Bayern invite all cultural practitioners in Bavaria to join this process at the Nürnberg Digital Festival. At the Neues Museum Nürnberg, the day will create an open space for orientation, exchange, and shared input. The day is structured in two connected parts: 

PART 1 

In the morning, experts from culture and technology will share their perspectives: What does AI mean as a structural shift, for society, for art, for the concrete work of cultural practitioners? What opportunities arise, what risks exist, and what stance does culture need to take? 

Three perspectives will meet on stage:

PART 2
 
In the afternoon, the space belongs to the participants. In a participatory format, we will work together to identify: Where does it really hurt? What is missing, in knowledge, in exchange, in orientation? And what do cultural practitioners in Bavaria concretely need to engage with AI on their own terms and creatively?
 
This is where listening turns into shaping: in a World Café format, participants will work at themed tables on questions that emerge directly from the morning session, from the opportunities and concerns in their own daily work to the changes the cultural sector needs. The results will be evaluated together and will inform the planning of next steps and future events on this topic.
 
The outcomes of this day are not an endpoint. They feed into a longer-term, open process, carried by Kulturatlas Bayern as a digital platform and shared space for cultural practitioners in Bavaria. What begins in Nürnberg will continue on the Kulturatlas and be turned into concrete results.

Lass dich von Beispielen aus anderen Kulturbetrieben inspirieren, bring deine konkreten Aufgaben und Ideen mit, die wir gleich gemeinsam lösen, und stell deine Fragen zu Funktion, Kosten und Nutzen. Mit und ohne Vorkenntnisse – alle aus dem Kulturbetrieb sind herzlich willkommen.
