Who owns creativity? – AI and copyright

With three short keynote speeches (two artists and a lawyer), we will shed light on copyright law in the age of AI. What is permitted and morally acceptable?

Artificial intelligence opens up fascinating possibilities - but it also raises sensitive questions. The focus is particularly on the tension between intellectual property and the use of creative content by AI.

Creative people want to protect their works, determine how they are used and also benefit financially from them. On the other hand, there are AI model developers who are dependent on large quantities of training material—often consisting of precisely this content.
At the same time, AI enables the creation of completely new works, which are often strongly reminiscent of existing styles or specific role models.

During the evening at ZAM, we will be looking for answers to the following questions:
  • What is legally permitted?
  • What is morally acceptable?
  • And what should be regulated in future?

Planned programme:
  • Three short presentations will shed light on legal, creative and technological perspectives, probably:
    • Anna Maria Bieniek, artist
    • Jochen Hunger, Artistic Director of ZAM
    • Baltasar Cevc, lawyer
  • We will then collect open questions together
  • In small groups, we will discuss what this means for our practice, rights and values

Come along, bring your experiences - and your opinion!

Recommended for: Everyone is invited, from interested parties to people who deal with the topic professionally to experts.

Also suitable for:
