The context:
Digitalization offers many opportunities. For example, for efficient project management or digital collaboration. However, digitalization (especially during the initial changeover) also costs time, money and nerves. Many non-profit organizations lack the necessary resources. This is precisely where digital volunteering comes in, bringing these organizations together with volunteer professionals from the IT and digital sector. Digital volunteering thus creates digital solutions and products that can be used directly by non-profit organizations and their target groups. The experts from the companies get to know new fields of learning and working environments and can effectively contribute their knowledge right on their doorstep.

The goal:
Digital volunteering sounds like a good and sensible thing. But can it also work as part of a coding jam/hackathon? And if so, what could a successful digital volunteering jam at “Türen Öffnen” look like?
In this workshop, we want to get to the bottom of this question and develop a concept for a coding jam session at “Türen Öffnen”. Among other things, the workshop will clarify:
