How can hexagonal architecture help us in frontend development? When is it worth using — and how does it work in real life?

Hi everyone,
We’ve got something special lined up on July 3rd!
As part of the Nürnberg Digital Festival, we’re teaming up with the Architecture Meetup for a double feature event — that means two talks in one night, woohoo!

You can check out the Architecture Meetup topic [here].
And we’ll be contributing with a session that’s all about architecture, too:

Hexagonal Websites? Hexagonal Frontend Architecture!
For a long time, “WWW” felt more like “Wild Wild West.”
Architecture patterns and design principles were often the exception, not the rule, in frontend development. That started to change with the rise of modern frameworks and single-page applications (SPAs) — and with it, a much-needed mindset shift.

But newer tech doesn’t automatically mean better architecture.
It’s still crucial to apply architecture patterns intentionally. One of the best-known in the Domain-Driven Design world is Hexagonal Architecture.

So — when does it make sense to use this pattern in frontend development?
And how does it actually work in practice?

A big thank you to codecentric AG for sponsoring the space, drinks, and pizza!
And shoutout to Nürnberg Digital for organizing the festival!

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
